Tier 3 Systems Administrator

Summary:

DIS is seeking a qualified Tier 3 System Administrator to support our client.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software.

  • Manages server backups and remediation of system vulnerabilities to include STIG compliance.

  • Troubleshooting support for incidents that occur within one (1) business day after receipt of request during normal business hours.

  • Implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.

  • Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating system servers, including web servers and database servers, in support of business processing requirements.

  • Ensure long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization.

  • Utilize ServiceNow/Remedy/ITSM to maintain and track trouble tickets.

  • Develop and promote standard operating procedures.

  • Proactively identify issues and resolve and make suggestions for improvements to the environment.

  • Sets up administrator and service accounts.

  • Maintains system documentation.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

  • Participates in special projects as required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Expert knowledge with Exchange

  • Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining both physical and virtual servers.

  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, Exchange, and Windows Server 2012

  • Experience with installing, configuring, and supporting windows-based applications on Windows 7, 8, and 10 desktop systems, both virtual and physical

  • Extensive knowledge of Server and PC hardware and software maintenance

  • Experience analyzing requirements for deployment of new desktop applications, creating deployment plans and automation processes for new applications.

  • Demonstrated experience with Group Policy Management, to include creation of policies, troubleshooting and maintaining.

  • Demonstrated experience with applying STIGs to systems, applications and components and troubleshooting STIG related issues.

  • Self-starter and ability to work tasks with little supervision or assistance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Can be substituted for Associate’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or 4 years relevant experience.

  • DoD IAT Level II Certification is required.

  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility is required.

Senior Cyber Security/Information Assurance Engineer

Responsibilities:

DIS is seeking a Cyber Security/ Information Assurance Engineer (IAE) in support of a DoD research initiative to deliver mobile handheld devices to tactical units supporting advanced networking protocols and custom Android-based mission software.  Duties include collaborating with Government managers, engineers and technicians to include coordinating the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process to deploy research prototypes to Army tactical units. The IAE will provide information assurance support as part of the integration, testing, fielding, and systems engineering process to ensure that all A&A activities are successful. The IAE will interact with other members of the team in order to fulfill all IA deliverables set forth by the customer.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in related field (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of relevant experience in DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) / Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and implementation of security controls. 

  • Good understanding of Common Criteria and NIAP process in a DoD tactical environment.

  • DoD IA Certifications (Required: Security+ Desired: CISSP Certification, CCNA-Security Cisco, CASP, CISA, CEH)

  • Hands on experience with tools such as Retina, NMap, Nessus, and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), and Host Based Security System (HBSS).

  • Experience testing and implementing DoD STIGs and devising mitigation strategies, applying Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) patches to systems and complete security compliance scans upon applying patches or updates to the system.

  • Experience configuring, scanning, and implementing security controls in Linux and SE Linux servers.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, providing IA guidance to other engineers.

  • Active Secret clearance required

  • Experience with system engineering and network protocols are highly desired.

Desired skills include experience working IA processes in a coalition network, experience supporting forward deployed forces and networks, and experience with tactical mobile networks and security controls on Android devices.

Senior Software Engineer

DIS is seeking a full-stack software engineer to prototype and build applications for managing information assurance policies and provisioning network devices for a next-generation mobile network. You will get in on the ground floor of a new DoD research project aimed at deploying advanced information sharing and mobility capabilities to tactical users.

Responsibilities:

  • You will help design and prototype web-based system management software that will deconflict policies and evaluate/monitor the security posture of multiple networks and devices.

  • You will develop front and backend implementations to support multi-domain users, user credentials, domain credentials, and

  • Work with other developers and architects to determine optimal solution architecture to maximize efficiency, maintainability, and scalability.

  • Work cross functionally with other product development teams to create alignment / consistency.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required and 5 years of software development experience creating customer facing web applications is required

  • Developed system management applications  

  • Active Secret clearance

  • Experience in any of the following areas is a plus:

    • machine learning

    • hypervisors and linux containers

    • system security Assessment and Authorization (A&A)

    • Android app development and provisioning

    • graphing and visualization software  

    • PKI and encryption technologies

    • network protocol design and implementation

Senior Data Scientist

Responsibilities:

DIS is seeking a senior data scientist with strong software development experience to lead research and development of advanced algorithms and data-centric applications for managing information assurance policies and provisioning network devices for a next-generation DoD mobile network. You will get in on the ground floor of a new DoD research project aimed at deploying advanced information sharing and mobility capabilities to tactical users.

  • You will develop algorithms and visualizations for managing multi-domain system security and determine the best approach to apply machine learning to the task.

  • You will design and build system management software that will deconflict policies and evaluate/monitor the security posture of multiple networks and devices.

  • Work with other developers and architects to determine optimal solution architecture to maximize efficiency, maintainability, and scalability.

  • Work cross functionally with other product development teams.

  • Develop program/interface specifications and test requirements.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required (or Bachelors with experience in research)

  • 10 years of experience in data science researching system and information security

  • 2 years of experience with applying machine learning to security related domain

  • Active Secret clearance

  • Experience in any of the following areas is a plus:

    • Natural Language Processing (NLP) experience

    • System security experience including Assessment and Authorization (A&A)

    • Android app development and provisioning

    • PKI and encryption technologies

    • DNS and name resolution

    • network protocol design and implementation
